East Ohio Mentoring Excursion ABC Railway

April 27, 2024

Ohio Valley Railcars will host a Mentoring Event on the Akron Barberton Cluster Railway between Ravenna and Kent. This event is intended for paid members who have passed the Rulebook Test and who have 2024 NARCOA Insurance but still require mentoring.

We will use the NARCOA Mentoring procedure newly revised in February 2024.

The day will begin with a classroom session to review Risks, Safety Procedures, Rules, etc. with the OVR team.   After this we will go to the set-on location for Car Inspections, the Set-on, and a Safety Meeting. Then after a safe set-on the Mentorees and their Mentors will travel from Ravenna to Kent, Ohio where the excursion will have a break, turn the cars, and return. A second trip will be available to finish the mentoring (and for the fun of it) before set-off.    No Hyrails. $40 fee.
